Getting Ones Girls To Eat Greens

Back in our childhood days, many if not all were always reminded by parents to eat veggies to stay strong and healthy.

Let's face it, some vegetables just don't taste good. Regarding the taste, this will be up to the person eating the vegetable.

We already know that eating vegetables bring about many benefits. Equipped with vitamins and minerals, vegetables are a must eat and should always be added in our daily meal. You can see a variety of colors, textures and shapes present in vegetables.

Although these vitamins and minerals can be taken from supplements and drinks, it doesn't actually guarantee its effectiveness as that of taking it from eating vegetables. Thus, we really need to teach our children to eat veggies. However, its really not easy feeding kids with veggies - is there an easy way to do it?

A good approach is to prepare vegetables that are easy to eat and with sweet taste then eventually try to add bit and pieces of other vegetables on the meal. Sugar can be added to their meal to have a sweeter taste and add squash for the soft and smooth taste. To have an appealing taste, you can have your vegetable sauted with butter, garlic and onions. Such vegetables as cauliflower and broccoli taste much better when seasoned and covered with various sauces. Saute as well as meals with sauce are the best way to conceal the bitter as well as other unpalatable tastes in vegetables..

Of course, a lot of us will also agree that other fruits taste better as they are or uncooked. Nature seems to have a way of making them taste that way. You can actually eat off the vegetable right off from its vine just like the tomato for example. Also, carrots can be the sweetest vegetable depending on how they're grown. This is not the case with most tuber type vegetables like rutabagas and turnips.

Like potatoes and squash, these can be prepared with butter or other seasoning and taste is not bad.

Having to boil a vegetable lessens its nutrient as well as vitamin content and not to mention it degrades the taste. If you choose to saute your vegetable, you'll have a better taste and the essential vitamins and minerals will retain. Furthermore, cooking your veggies Al Dente can also boost your meals' taste.

No matter how you put it, vegetables are still the best source of essential proteins, vitamins and minerals that the body. Having to feed your kids with vegetables are actually not that difficult at all if you know how to improvise the taste and cook it that way your kids would love. This way, you know your children are getting their essential vitamins and minerals in a form that nature provides for maximum digestion.
