Watch hidden calories in beverages. All beverages other than water have calories in them. Calories from soda pop, beer, Kool-aid and other drinks add up throughout the day. When counting your calories, be sure to add in the calories from beverages you drink each day.

Try to reward yourself for staying true to your diet for extra motivation. Treat yourself to a new workout outfit, running shoes or a treatment at a nearby spa. You can buy new clothes that you can feel confident wearing and that can feel rewarding. It also can keep you in a positive mood and keep you motivated to keep going.

Do not eat right before bedtime. Do not eat within two hours of your normal bedtime. If you must eat something, then eat healthy like veggies and some water. If you can't live by this two hour rule at all times, then do it as much as possible. You body burns fewer calories at night and will just turn a high calorie snack to fat.

A good idea would be to limit your caffeine intake. Caffeine tends to decrease your body's metabolism, which then slows down the speed at which it can burn fat.

When you are trying to lose weight, make sure you a specific time scheduled for working out. Set aside a specific time each day that is devoted to exercise. Write down when you plan to exercise in your calendar, just like you would plan a meeting or important appointment.

Try eating rich and healthy avocados to help with your weight loss program. Though they contain a high fat content, the fat can be considered "good fat" because it is unsaturated. The rich and silky texture can satisfy those who need to watch unhealthy fat consumption that is in many meats. A veggie taco that uses avocado instead of regular ground beef is tastier, much healthier, and satisfying without the meat being missed.

Having a partner in your weight loss efforts can help keep you focused. You can do your exercise routines together, plan meals together and share the triumphs and defeats along the way. When you make a commitment as a team it is harder to make excuses to eat the wrong thing or skip the workout.
